Viktor is fairly used to getting his way. Maybe he's a little spoiled, but it's something he doesn't do on purpose, something he doesn't tend to think about until he's met with a wall. And then he doesn't understand, because why doesn't Yuri want him in his room? He'd looked so thrilled to have Viktor there, Viktor distinctly remembers the time he'd offered Yuri a photo together--the way he'd been caught staring. This will be good for bonding, won't it? It's important for them to get along well if Viktor is going to be Yuri's trainer.

Yuri, on the other hand, seems adamant that Viktor not sleep in his room. It's disappointing, to say the least; Yuri is interesting, cute, handsome, and Viktor wants to get closer. Imagining his sleeping face, or wondering how he breathes... Sleeping together is a perfect way to get closer, he reasons, but Yuri doesn't seem to agree, if the closed door he's met with is any indication.

Maybe he's shy.

"Yuri." Viktor taps on the door again, wheedles in his best pleading voice that usually works, and it's confounding that it isn't this time. It would be easier to do this without a door blocking the view of his best, most persuasive faces.

Sooner or later, Yuri will give in. Won't he? Sleeping together is so nice--in either sense of the word, but Viktor would be more than okay with simply sharing a bed. He thinks about that easy flush on Yuri's face and the way he trips over his words when he's embarrassed or uncertain, and Viktor's filled with renewed vigor and determination.

He knocks again. This time, Yuri will surely let him in. Makkachin is nice and warm and cuddly and soft, but Yuri is...well, Yuri. Victor glances down at his side, gives his dog an apologetic pat on the head before knocking again. It doesn't occur to him that other people can probably hear, but all this would be solved if Yuri would just open the door. A very easy solution.

Viktor is a persuasive man when he wants something. And he really wants to sleep with Yuri.

Japan is really wonderful. Victor has been to a lot of places, but he's never been able to visit as much as he does with Yuuri. People will tell him places to visit, things he should see, but Victor much likes the out of the way places Yuuri knows--the bars and the restaurants and the parks--just as well as the big attractions. And sometimes, privately, watching Yuuri is just as entertaining as visiting old temples and shopping centers and castles.

Today, he decides, it's the beach. Victor sees a picture in a magazine, cooing over how nice it looks, how different it must be from the beaches at home. He wants to ask if Yuuri knows how to swim, if he burns easily, if he likes going to the beach or prefers mountains. An endless stream of questions, as always, because getting to know your partner is important, after all; and maybe Victor likes how flustered and uncertain Yuuri can get in a round of twenty questions. He himself is a free sharer, talking about the first time he went swimming in the sea, and how cold it looks in winter, and how he hasn't been in years what with his busy schedule.

That's why teaching Yuuri is nice. It's a change of pace, a mix-up of the rut Victor feels he's fallen into. Yuuri is so fresh and young and quick to learn, he works hard, and he's--well, Victor could go on forever, but he won't. Not now, anyway.

The beach.

"You haven't been home in five years, right?" Surely Yuuri misses the beach, too. "There aren't oceans in Detroit. Do you swim? Is it nice?"

Victor's not the best at geography of places he hasn't been, but he thinks he remembers from the maps he's seen of America. Maybe? Well, whatever. The beach sounds like a good idea, and he shifts from his position on the floor. Yuuri will say yes, surely.
